A Black Rose Bleeds

When a love fails
Many tears are shed.
With a loving touch,
Tears they gently caress away.

When a heart breaks
Or a soul is destroyed.
With wings wrapping around,
Comfort they give, consuming all pain.

Too many sorrows
Broken spirits absorbed once too often.
Upon angels’ shoulders
All falls slowly taking its toll.

One by one feathers drift,
Scattered about, no one ever notices.
Upon fallen angel feathers,
Velvet blankets soothe and shelter.

Their tears many,
But who weeps for angels?
Matching every angel tear
Hidden in darkness, it bleeds alone.

When an angel falls
Beside them, it stands tall.
With tears of blood
A black rose inherits lost beauty.
