Synopsis

Journalist Clay Aker must decide between two difficult choices – return home to help his widowed mother search for his missing brother, Jack, and his girlfriend, Vicky, or remain with the woman he loves, Mary Frances Wiley. When his brother’s abandoned boat is found beached near Port Lavaca, Texas, Clay fears foul play and teams up with Texas Ranger Julio Ramirez to launch a coastal search for Jack. The search becomes complicated by murder, theft, kidnapping and a trail of pollution leading to major industrial plants. Meanwhile, without Clay to protect her, an arsonist attempts to silence Mary Frances and prevent her from testifying in a pending land fraud trial. All the while Vicky struggles to survive in the wilds of the Texas coast as her captors – a shrimp boat captain and his unscrupulous partner – feud over her fate. What happened to Jack? Does Vicky survive? Will Clay and Mary Frances’ relationship endure? And just who is polluting Lavaca Bay and why?
