Synopsis

"A Dreamer's Diary, Dethroning the Underachiever" is a compilation of poems that are designed to insight the mind, encourage the heart, inspire the will, and raise the spirit. These four pillars are the foundation of what we have termed 'motivational poetry'. This special kind of poetry invites readers to participate in the process of healing and growing by learning how to shape what they think and feel rather than just express it. A reader can go from searching for significance to reaching for greatness by discovering his ability to overcome his obstacles, endure his struggles, and outlast his troubles. This book addresses low self esteem, inaccurate identity, and misguided direction, as well as, symptoms of depression, oppression, and suppression and does so with an emphasis on the need to dream. A Dreamer's Diary is an excellent resource material for teachers, counselors, coaches, facilitators, students, or anyone seeking to elevate their thinking to match their true ability and is also an excellent read for lovers of poetry or those who simply need encouragement.

Inspiration
For a long time I have been troubled by our misuse and outright abuse of the power God has given us to create with words. We have disregarded in some cases and marginalized in others this supernatural ability that we each have. Too often, we have failed to build and opted to tear down ourselves, each other, and our young people with language fit for derelicts and not language fit for kings. We are kings who have been given a creative license to dream and make dreams come true. This is not just for some of us; this is for all of us. It is how we are designed.
Dedication
This book is dedicated to GOD, my Father, who has given me life, the passion to live it, and the determination to live it to its fullest; to my wonderful and beautiful wife, Regina, who is all ‘the woman’ I will ever need; to our gifted children - Kemuel, Jewel, and Harmonee, who are constant reminders of why my struggle must become my victory; to all the dreamers out there who are not afraid to relentlessly and passionately pursue their dreams; and finally to those of you who are afraid and are dying inside because of it.
