About Me:
I am a full-time computer programmer/analyst who writes mysteries in my spare time. I grew up in Rhode Island, but have lived in Colorado now for half my life. I am a member of Denver Woman's Press Club, Sisters in Crime and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, and a graduate of the Arvada Citizens Police Academy.
I enjoy meeting new people and talking to new friends and old about books. Besides writing mysteries, I read as many as I can fit into my week.
My first mystery "Murder by Yew" was published in November, 2009. "Murder by Proxy" will be released in February, 2011, by the same publisher Mainly Murder Press. I'd love to hear from you through or visit me at www.SuzanneYoungBooks.com. To read an excerpt from my novel, please go to www.MainlyMurderPress.com.

Achievements:
"Mistwillow Crime Wave" was my short story winner for Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers anthology "Tales from Mistwillow" which rose to #3 on Denver's best seller list in December, 2007.
Favorites
Authors:
There are so many talented writers that it is hard to narrow down my favorites. It also depends on the genre. I am drawn particularly to cozy mysteries and to British detective series. Authors I've read recently and enjoy are M.C. Beaton, Susan Wittig Albert, Cynthia Riggs and Dorothy Gilman.
Books:
Many favorites -- ones I've read more than once would include "Little Women." "To Kill a Mockingbird," and "Tess of the D'Urbervilles"
Interests:
I enjoy cooking and gardening most days. Whenever I can get away, I like to hike trails around the foothills and front range of the Colorado Rockies and I'm always game for a camping trip, particularly to any State park or National Forest. And, of course, I'm a "book junkie" who always has at least one book at hand.
Quotes:
My all time favorite is by Bertrand Russell: "Your writing is never as good as you hoped; but never as bad as you feared."
