About Me:
Arlene Bjork has practiced and taught Ashtanga
Vinyasa Yoga since 1997. She was inspired to begin
her avid practice after she realized during her first yoga
class that her back pain from scoliosis had completely
disappeared.
After spending time in New York and Denver studying
various traditions which she incorporates into the
Vinyasa practice, Arlene settled in Richmond, Virginia
with her family. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from
St. Lawrence University, an MBA in General Business
from the University of Colorado, and has her Yoga
Alliance Registration at the ERYT-500 hour level. She
frequently studies at the Jivamukti Yoga School in New
York City where she is lead by the guidance of Sharon
Gannon, David Life, Ruth Lauer-Manenti, and other
Jivamukti teachers.
Arlene’s method builds strength, creates heat,
cultivates the breath and calms the mind. All levels of
practitioners, from the beginner to the advanced, can find
pleasure and challenge under Arlene’s creative guidance.
Arlene is the Director of the Grace Yoga Centers, as
well as Grace Yoga Training Systems headquartered in
Richmond. She has taught classes, workshops and
retreats under the guidance of her Highest Teacher in
Central America, Europe, and the United States. Her
popular podcast on iTunes has been downloaded by
practitioners from every continent on the globe. The
Grace Yoga 200 hour Teacher Training Program has
graduated confident, capable and loving teachers,
prepared to serve, affirm, cultivate and educate students
from all walks of life.
