About Me:
I am a retired, award-winning public relations and marketing executive who traded life on the fast track for the rural southern Appalachian area of North Carolina. I am enjoying my Blue Ridge Mountain home where I observe the mountain culture and try to fit in by studying bluegrass banjo and volunteering in a variety of organizations. My book, Real Country: From the Fast Track to Appalachia, contains humorous letters written to friends describing my misadventures as I've tried to adjust to this very different environment. My life in New Jersey and the Washington, DC area did little to prepare me for this rural life, but I'm confident I can learn to relax enough to enjoy the privilege of living in such a beautiful place.
Achievements:
Real Country: From the Fast Track to Appalachia has received "highly recommended" reviews in the Midwest Book Review and on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com . Carolina Mountain Life review recommends Real Country in May/June 09 issue
