I'm a lawyer and scholar. I've written a book called "Your Legal Leg Up Litigation Manual" for people being sued on old debts, available through http://www.yourlegallegup.com.

My law practice has focused on civil liberties, freedom of expression, and consumer protection among other things. I have represented clients in some very high-profile discrimination suits against both public and private sector employers. Among other things, I represented the first female police officer for one of the cities of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area in her suit against that city for sex harassment and discrimination. I've represented numerous employees against a school district in their claims of first amendment infringement, race and sex discrimination, and retaliation for opposing sexual predation directed at students.

I successfully represented several hundred victims of fraudulent time-share scams and have been intensely involved in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act law. In a way, YourLegalLegUp is a culmination of those efforts, as i came to believe that people could, and probably pragmatically should, represent themselves in the hundreds of thousands of debt collection cases that are being filed every year now. They have an excellent chance to win if they know what they're doing. So I wrote a litigation manual to provide them the tools to do defend themselves, and I have helped many people with this handbook.

I have also almost completed a collection of short stories which arise out of my relationships to my two fabulous children and to my original family. They're happy, funny stories. Maybe a little nostalgic at times, but mostly forward-looking. How I managed to have chldren Norman Rockwell would have loved to paint I'll never figure out. I've written Your Legal Leg Up Litigation Manual and a wide variety of other tools for people facing lawsuits arising out of debts. I've almost finished a collection of short stories. I am a J.D. with various academic honors who has practiced law for many years representing individuals in a wide variety of contexts, often involving civil liberties or consumer rights. I am raising two extraordinarily talented and wonderful children, and am accomplished as an artist, musiciian and photographer.
