About Me:
Clearwater resident and author of "A Katrina Moment", will be on a US book tour for the month of September. She will be at the Hatchery in Angola IN on 9/15 presenting "Two Tales of Survival---Siberia & Katrina"

She has spent much time in New Orleans volunteering with HandsOnNewOrleans & Americorps.

Born in London, England, Alexandra Everist came to Chicago in 1960, attending Schurz H.S. She received her B. A. in English from Alliance College and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Alexandra owned The Oliver Twist Tea Shoppe in Libertyville, Illinois. Later, she worked for Abbott Laboratories and, most recently, HealthPlan Holdings as a Vice President. She has four sons, one daughter, one granddaughter and one step-son. She has been a member of Rotary International since 1988. "A Katrina Moment" relates the tale of two lovers who decide to stay in New Orleans during the hurricane. Throughout the days of the storm and its aftermath, the two band together with the diverse survivors and create a society free of prejudice. This is Alexandra's second book. The first "No Place to Call Home" tells the story of her father's experiences in the Soviet labor camps in Siberia and his eventual war experiences. "No Place to Call Home" is scheduled for release in October. More information on both books may be found
